Applying for a Visit Visa for a Family Member

Applying for a Visit Visa in Dubai could be a hassle, and sooner or later, the Government must introduce e-Visa system where the visa can be applied without visiting any office.

Criteria for Application

Any resident (Sponsor) whose monthly salary package is above AED 4,000 or basic salary is AED 3000 + Accommodation can apply for a visit visa for their Family Members (Applicant).

Validity Period

There are two forms of Visit Visas in terms of validity period:

Short Term Visa: Valid for 30 days.
Long Term Visa: Valid for 90 days.

It cannot be extended further than this period.

Documents Required

Typed Application form which can be obtained from any Typing Center around Dubai.
Passport Copy of the Sponsor and the Applicant.
1 Passport size Photograph of the Applicant.
If applying for Husband or Wife, the marriage contract must be attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs or UAE Embassy.
To sponsor children, Birth Certificates must be attested.
If sponsoring relatives who cannot be proved by family name, relationship proof must be attested by the Embassy.

Procedure for Application

1) Visit any authorized Typing Office around Dubai and get the application form typed.
2) Go to the Dubai Naturalization & Residency Department (DNRD) (next to Trade Center, Defense Round About) and submit your application along with other documents in the Visa Section.
3) Once you receive the accepted Application, you can send the original or the copy to the Applicant. If copy is sent, then deposit the original at the Airport or the DNATA office in DNRD. Please submit the document beforehand (the flight lands) in order to avoid any problems. You can write the Flight Number, Date of Arrival and Time of Arrival on the reverse of the original document before submission to be on the safe side.

Fees for Application

The deposit fee involved is AED 1,000 which is refundable once the applicant leaves Dubai.

Short Term Visa (Valid for 30 Days): AED 620 + Typing Fees
Long Term Visa (Valid for 90 Days): AED 1120 + Typing Fees
