Vehicle Testing and Registration
If you are buying a new vehicle, the company where you bought it from, will do all the necessary procedures required and as well as no Testing is required as it is new. But if you want to renew your registration, there are a couple of places who will do it for you.
The main center is next to Mall of the Emirates or Opposite Burj Al Arab Hotel. The easiest way to get there is by Sheikh Zayed Road, and take the Interchange similar to Mall of the Emirates, but the way to Al Barsha or in simpler terms the middle bridge going up. Once you go straight after getting down the birdge, take a U-Turn from the Intersection and take the first right afterwards. You will see somewhere there the Bur Dubai Police Station, and right next to it is the place where vehicle testing and registration is done. There will be alot of people, so dont get frightened, it will occupy some time. There are other centers as well like the Shamil in selected Emarat Petrol Stations, Tasjeel in selected Eppco Petrol Stations.

You will have to get the car tested. If passed, you can renew the registration, and if failed, you have to repair the fault, and then come again for the test. You can repair the problem within 2 weeks or 4 weeks, and you wont have to pay the Test fees again. Also, if you have any fines on the vehicle, you will have to settle them with any police station, or online by visiting www.dubaipolice.gov.ae.
